Transgender Rights Are Human Rights
Transgender people are human beings and deserve the same rights, dignity, and respect as everyone else. Their gender identity should never be a reason for violence, discrimination, or exclusion.
At Happiest Ones Health Support and Rights Initiative (HOHSRI), we believe strongly that transgender rights are human rights. Through our ISDAO-funded project, we are working to protect and promote human rights in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo States.
In many parts of Nigeria, transgender persons face daily challenges, including stigma, harassment, arbitrary arrest, and denial of basic services. Our work includes human rights education, community dialogues, documentation of rights violations, and referral to legal and psychosocial support services.
By working across Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo, HOHSRI ensures that transgender people are not left behind. Human rights are universalβthey belong to everyone.
